(I'll be adding to this list as I can)

Writing challenges:

National Novel Writing Month - My favorite writing challenge ever! 50,000 words in 30 days, what could be better?

National Novel Finishing Month - For those who didn't get their NaNoWriMo novels finished. Runs through December.

JulNoWriMo - Same thing as NaNoWriMo, but in July instead of November.

Southern Cross Novel Challenge - I actually don't live anywhere near the Southern Cross, but I found this to be a charming little group. Same idea as NaNoWriMo and JulNoWriMo, except in June. They also have other writing things going on through out the year.

National Novel Editing Month - A challenge to spend 50 hours in March editing your novel.

Literary Agent Blogs

(disclaimer: I can't list all the different agent blogs, but these are the ones I frequent)

Nathan Bransford - A plethora of information about agents and the publishing world.

Jennifer Jackson - "Letters from the query wars" gives a wonderful peek into the everyday life of a courageous agent.

Colleen Lindsay - More good info and some great debates.

Resources:

Will Write for Wine - A wonderful group of people on the forums (including me). And we have wine!

Wikipedia - Wiki knows everything.

YouTube - Need to know how to rock climb? Or learn how hold a long sword? There's a YouTube clip for you!

Bizarre, Obsolete, Odd, Outdated and Weird Words - Ostrobogulous words galore!

yWriter - A wonderful free novel writing program. With this you can divide your story by chapters and scenes. I like being able to flip back and forth through my chapters, much easier than Word to find things in previous chapters.

Writers Free Reference - HUGE list of reference links. Beware, it's easy to get lost in here.

The World Building Checklist - This list was made for D&D, but I found it works just as well for novel writing.

Fantasy Writing Articles - Many good articles on fantasy writing. I especially liked "Using Horses in Fiction".

How To (Legally and Ethically) Steal Ideas - An excellent article, the title says it all.

Editing Resources:

Common Errors in English - Very good resource. Well written and alphabetized so it's easy to find what you're looking for.

10 Most Common Grammar Errors - A good look at the top ten.

How to punctuate - A nice short look at the most common punctuation marks, and how to use them.
